Road Trip Activities for Kids

Are you planning your road trips in this New Year? If you have young children, you know that planning can be a challenge, especially when it comes to ages and attention spans. Are you running out of ideas as far as activities go?

Here is a list of ideas as you prepare for our upcoming family road trips. The road trip activities range from games to printables! Here are a few ideas to help you plan and prepare:
  • State Puzzle Sheets
  • Kids Road Atlas-Great to keep in a binder
  • Hotel Scavenger Hunt
  • Road Trip "Find It" for Tweens and Teens
  • Travel Battleship Game
One site, KC Adventures (//www.kcedventures.com/blog/40-free-printable-road-trip-activities), suggests you get each child a binder to keep all of the printables organized. When they get bored, they can go through and choose which activity they would like to do. When finished, they place that sheet into the back of the binder.

When the road trip is over, they will have a nice collection of memorable games and activities from their road trip. To make it even more memorable, print out a cover page with the name of the road trip, date, and year. When the years pass by they can go back and take a look at their past road trips and compare to current trips as a family. It's so much fun and a keepsake since kids grow up so quickly.
