With its Plug-in Hybrid architecture, the Hornet R/T combines the power of its 1.3L Turbo engine, with its electric motor and the Segment-Exclusive PowerShot to unlock an extra 25 electric horsepower-delivering an estimated 285 combined horsepower and 383 pound-feet of total torque-and shaving 1 second off its own 0-60 mph launch time.
GT PERFORMANCE
The 2023 Hornet GT hits the streets for the first time with a crown already on its head. Enable Sport Mode right on the steering wheel button and uncover why the Hornet earned Best-in-Class power to weight ratio.

What are the New Engine Options for the Dodge Hornet?
This year, the Dodge brand is reaching new heights in terms of power and performance thanks to its two new powertrain options! The Dodge Hornet lineup features two trim levels, the R/T and the GT, and both of these trim levels feature a new engine under the hood. Starting with the GT, you'll find an all-new Hurricane engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that's designed for optimal fuel-efficiency. The Hurricane offers the GT 265 horsepower, and 295 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for the R/T trim, you'll be treated to the new plug-in hybrid powertrain, which includes a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine, as well as a 15.5-kWh battery that powers an electric motor. If you have a fully-charged battery, you can drive your RT up to 30 miles, without using any gasoline! The R/T also comes with a new PowerShot button, which will instantly produce an extra 25 horsepower, allowing you to reach up to 60 miles per hour in 6.1 seconds!
What Design Features can I Find on the 2023 Dodge Hornet?
The 2023 Dodge Hornet offers lots of new features to go with the new powertrain options, but you can still enjoy all of those signature Dodge features you know and love! For example, the Dodge Rhombii badge is front and center on the grille of the Hornet, just above a slim horizontal "mail slot" opening. The Hornet's shape is a bit different from other Dodge models, since it's the first CUV of the Dodge family. It has a robust, SUV-inspired silhouette, but it's smaller and more compact than the Durango. Its two-row layout seats up to five passengers, and both the GT and R/T models feature standard black interior, accented with bold red stitching. There are also many bright and eye-catching color options for the exterior, as well as some racing stripe options. The dashboard features a 10.25-inch digital cluster display, and it also comes with Performance Pages so you can learn more about your vehicle!
What are the Dodge Hornet's Performance Features?
The Dodge Hornet has all of the features you need for a high-powered and exciting drive! You can take advantage of great performance features that enhance your experience on the road. As we mentioned above, the R/T's PowerShot feature makes a big difference in your acceleration with the PHEV powertrain. There are also many other performance features available throughout the lineup. First off, there's the Brembo high-performance brakes, with bright red brake calipers that are sure to grab attention. There's also a flat-bottomed steering wheel complete with paddle shifters for that authentic race experience. The R/T's hybrid powertrain offers three drive modes, so you can choose how you'd like to use your car's power. You can select whether you want to use electric power only, gas power only, or both at once!
