The second engine offered, powering just the Limited and Calligraphy trims, is a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder that pumps out 277 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The third engine is a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder that is paired with an electric motor for 225 horsepower. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard while all-wheel drive is available.

The Cherokee is available in five trim levels. The base Latitude model is outfitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, a 6-speaker sound system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, Apple and Android smartphone integration, a Selec-Terrain management system, roof rails, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a split-folding rear seat. The higher trims, like the Latitude Plus, Latitude Lux, and Limited, add more features like heated front seats, keyless entry and ignition, rear automatic braking, remote engine start, fog lights, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, a power liftgate, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, driver-seat memory settings, and a 9-speaker sound system. There are four Santa Fe trim levels offered in the 2021 model year. The base SE trim comes outfitted with an 8-inch touchscreen, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, four USB ports, and wireless Apple and Android smartphone integration. The upper trims add heated front seats, keyless entry and ignition, roof rails, heated side mirrors, larger wheels, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, unique exterior trim, and a head-up display. Many of the Santa Fe's features are tucked away in packages that add to the price tag of the SUV.
