Charging your Wrangler 4xe is simple. An included Level I charging cable will fully charge the battery in 12 hours while an available and simple-to-use Level II Jeep® Branded Charger can fully charge your Wrangler 4xe battery in approximately 2 hours.

The Wrangler 4xe is the Industry's First Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) with a Front and Rear Locking Differential. Its system is paired with a 2.0L I4 DOHC direct-injection Turbo PHEV engine. A 17-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative brake booster and eight-speed automatic transmission work together to send impressive amounts of power and torque to each wheel, maximizing the capability of every component. The sealed and waterproof battery pack and electronics even perform in tough conditions like fording creeks and streams up to 31.5 inches in depth.

OPTIMIZE EVERY RIDE
HYBRID MODE
The default mode, Hybrid, combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first.
ELECTRIC MODE
When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.

Like all Wranglers, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe offers 4-wheel drive on all of its trim levels, with multiple different 4X4 systems available. When it comes to off-roading, you'll have two great options to choose from. The first option is new for this year, which is the Willys. This model comes with locking rear differentials, and 32-inch mud-terrain tires. The Rubicon is even more robust, with features like 33-inch all-terrain tires, locking front and rear differentials, and a front disconnecting sway bar. In addition to this specialized equipment, the Wrangler 4xe comes with standard features like underbody skid plates, and front tow hooks. The Wrangler 4xe's battery is waterproof sealed, so you can safely ford up to 31.5 inches of water.
What Engine Powers the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe?
The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a highly powerful, yet fuel-efficient SUV. As a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, or PHEV, the Wrangler 4xe features both a gas-powered engine, and a set of electric motors. The engine in question is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. There are also two electric motors incorporated into the mix, which are powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The Wrangler 4xe is capable of producing 375 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque, and has an all-electric range of up to 21 miles. This can be accessed by choosing Electric Mode from the three E-Selec drive modes on your dashboard. Electric Mode uses only the battery, Hybrid Mode uses the battery and the gas tank at once, and eSave mode uses the gas tank first, saving the battery for later.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe has tons of exciting features, both inside and out. On the outside, you'll notice subtle blue details, specifically in the form of blue painted front tow hooks, and a blue 4xe badge. Inside, this theme is continued with features like blue accent stitching. The signature 4xe shade of blue is incorporated into the mix to celebrate the electric elements. The new trim level this year is the Willys, which includes a wealth of athletic features. In addition to its off-road equipment, it also features black wheels, Willys decals, and a premium sound system. The top tier of the Wrangler 4xe trim level lineup is the High Altitude, which features Nappa leather-trimmed seats, LED headlights, and much more!
